Jill A. Stoddard, Ph.D.

Jill Stoddard is passionate about sharing science-backed ideas from psychology to help people thrive. In addition to her role as director and clinician at CSAM, she is a professional and TEDx speaker, writer, award-winning teacher, peer-reviewed ACT trainer, and co-host of the Psychologists Off the Clock podcast which ranks in the top .5% of podcasts worldwide. Dr. Stoddard received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Boston University where she trained at the highly regarded Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders (www.bu.edu/anxiety) under the mentorship of Dr. David Barlow and Dr. Stefan Hofmann.  She completed an APA accredited internship and post-doctoral fellowship at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine. She is a standing-ovation-commanding speaker (ok, that’s only happened twice so far, but it’s her goal for every talk!) She specializes in evidence-based treatments for anxiety and related issues and has expertise in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Dr. Stoddard also loves coaching people on overcoming obstacles to reaching personal and professional goals. She is the author of three books that have been translated into more than a dozen languages: The Big Book of ACT Metaphors: A Practitioner's Guide to Experiential Exercises and Metaphors in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Be Mighty: A Woman’s Guide to Liberation from Anxiety, Worry, and Stress Using Mindfulness and Acceptance, and Imposter No More: Overcome Self Doubt and Imposterism to Cultivate a Successful Career. She sees therapy clients in California via telehealth, in person and virtually in New Hampshire, and also offers virtual personal and professional development coaching nationwide. When she is not seeing clients, speaking, writing, or podcasting, you can find her reading, doing yoga and Pilates, or spending quality time with her friends and family, including her disobedient French Bulldog, Biggie Smalls. Michelle Lopez, Ph.D.

Dr. Michelle Lopez is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and the Associate Director of the Center for Stress and Anxiety Management (CSAM).  She has extensive training in evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).  She has over a decade of specialized training and experience treating adults who are struggling with generalized anxiety, panic disorder, illness anxiety disorder, somatic symptom disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, acute stress disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, social anxiety disorder, specific phobias, and stressful life events. Dr. Lopez is particularly interested in helping clients address problems that interfere with living a meaningful life.  She also enjoys working with clients on creating a sense of purpose, establishing and maintaining healthy relationships, cultivating self-compassion, developing and strengthening communication skills, navigating difficult life transitions, and improving overall quality of life. In addition to her passion for working with clients, Dr. Lopez greatly enjoys teaching.  She taught undergraduate college courses for nearly 10 years and continues to provide guest lectures and mentor students. In her spare time, Dr. Lopez enjoys reading, exercising, discovering new music, watching documentaries, working on brain teasers, and most of all, spending time with family and friends.  She also enjoys time with her precious, clingy canines and tries to teach them to respect boundaries and be more independent.

 

Annabelle Mebane, M.A., LMFT

Annabelle earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Child Development from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and her MA in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Clinical Counseling, and Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. Following her traineeship offering counseling for children in school settings, Annabelle trained for three years under the supervision of CSAM director Dr. Jill Stoddard. In her clinical practice, Annabelle utilizes evidence based practices including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). She works with adults struggling with generalized anxiety, panic disorder, agoraphobia, illness anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress, and specific phobias. As a new mom herself, Annabelle has a special interest in using her clinical expertise as well as her lived experience to support pregnant patients and new mothers in navigating the transition into parenthood, including treating perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs). Annabelle is passionate about helping her clients learn to relate to their pain with increased flexibility and compassion, and enjoys empowering them to engage in their lives from a place of meaning. Annabelle is a member of Postpartum Support International and Postpartum Health Alliance, and has published articles on ProQuest and in the CAMFT magazine, The Therapist.
